Required Documents
The application requirements for a temporary residence card vary based on individual cases:
a) Application for Foreign Workers with a Work Permit or Work Permit Exemption
Required Documents
- Notarized copy of the Business Registration Certificate, Investment License, or Operating License for representative offices or branches (as applicable).
- Notarized copy of the valid work permit or work permit exemption for foreign workers, with a minimum validity of 12 months.
- Initial registration of company seal and signature at the Immigration Department (Form NA16).
- Official letter and application for the issuance of a temporary residence card (Form NA6).
- Application form for a temporary residence card (Form NA8).
- Letter of authorization for a Vietnamese staff member to submit the temporary residence card application at the Immigration Department.
- Original passport (valid for at least one year for a 1-year TRC or two years for a 2-year TRC). The passport must have a visa with the correct working purpose, coded as LĐ (Labor) or DN (Business) sponsored by the company.
- Temporary residence confirmation (Form NA17) or temporary residence registration book for foreign nationals, confirmed by the local police in the area where the foreign national is residing.
- Two 2×3 cm photos.
b) Application for Foreign Nationals Married to a Vietnamese Citizen
Required Documents
- Notarized copy of the marriage certificate issued in Vietnam, or a legalized copy of the marriage registration certificate if married abroad.
- Sponsorship application and request for a temporary residence card for foreign nationals (Form NA7).
- Application form for a temporary residence card (Form NA8).
- Original passport and visa (passport must be valid for at least 13 months, and the visa must align with the intended purpose).
- Two 2×3 cm photos.
- Notarized copy of the Vietnamese spouse’s household registration book.
- Notarized copy of the Vietnamese spouse’s ID card.
c) Application for Foreign Nationals with a Vietnamese Parent
Required Documents
- Birth certificate or other documents proving the Vietnamese nationality of one or both parents.
- Sponsorship application and request for a temporary residence card for foreign nationals (Form NA7).
- Application form for a temporary residence card (Form NA8).
- Original passport and visa (passport must be valid for at least 13 months, and the visa must align with the intended purpose).
- Two 2×3 cm photos.
- Notarized copy of the Vietnamese parent’s household registration book.
- Notarized copy of the Vietnamese parent’s ID card.
d) Application for Foreign Investors in Vietnam
Required Documents
- Notarized copy of the Business Registration Certificate.
